Nb: An onion contains a very sensitive gas,that spur you to shed tears while chopping it.
2.In terms of cooking, onion helps to soften the food. E.g rice. And also it brings about fast cooking thereby preserving gas / kerosene.
3.A victim bitten by a scorpion can get relieve of pain, only by eating the onion raw. It also stops the poison from spreading.
4.Onions have a good medicinal background as a vegetable, it helps to clear blur vision and improves eye sight.
5.Onions are the only vegetable that are undetected by house rodent. E.g rat, you hardly see an onion  been eaten by a rat, cockroach etc.
